The GHS App was developed by Tartans for Tartans.

The GHS App allows its users to find many resources without having to navigate through a browser or open multiple tabs.

Features that we brought over from the prior app include direct access to Aeries, bell schedules, activity calendar, school map, and contact information.

The new features that we are excited to release are the following:

Teacher Search Engine
- Allows students to find out more about their teachers
- After searching for a teacher, the teachers email, room number, and short description allows students to connect with their teachers both personally and academically
- Email drafts can be made directly from the app, allowing students to quickly communicate with their teachers

Social Media
- A Twitter timeline has been implemented in the app, keeping students updated on announcements at GHS
- Both Instagram and YouTube will open the respective apps if the student/staff/parent owns these apps. If not, an in-app browser will pop up.

Tartan Events
- A live calendar feed will keep students, staff, and parents up to date with upcoming dances, assemblies, and more
- The odd/even calendar is also imported to allow students to quickly check if today is an odd or even day

Opening Links
- All links on the app open in a browser that remains within the app.
- By using an in-app browser as opposed to opening the stock browser app, students/teachers/parents can quickly navigate back to continue utilizing other resources on the app

Secret Easter Eggs??
- Be on the lookout for possible hidden features that will lead to a prize

Benjamin Yeung, Sachen Sampath, Ryan Suematsu, and Andrew Mansour created the GHS App from scratch. We decided to program our own app that catered towards the necessary resources GHS students utilize on a daily basis. We worked closely with many students, parents, and staff to ensure that the app could help everyone. The four of us began developing the app in the fall of our Junior Year at GHS, and after balancing our academics, extracurriculars, and the apps development, we have finally created a build of the app that we are proud of publishing. We hope that this app will help you as it has helped us. You can expect more updates in the future, making the app run smoother and adding more features. :)
